PaCCS Policy Late Event – 14 July 2017
‘Organised Crime in Conflict Zones’
We are pleased to announce that our next Policy Late event will be held at the University of Bath in London at 83 Pall Mall.
Organised crime has long been seen as a result of instability, uncertainty and breakdown. As traditional social, economic and political institutions begin to breakdown, improvised institutions take their place. The role of organised crime in conflict zones raises many issues for those that study conflict but also those that study organised crime. Organised crime in conflict zones becomes intricately linked to the conflict, its continuation and the chances for peace.
Chaired by our Conflict Theme Leadership Fellow, Professor David Galbreath, this Policy Late event aims to bring together practitioners, academics and policy makers to discuss the relationship between organised crime and conflict from both, an intellectual and political problem. The conversation will seek to look at the practical implications of doing work in and engaging with conflict zones where organised crime plays an important role.
Places are limited so please register your interest in attending by email to Kirstie Morrison at k.morrison@bath.ac.uk by 23 June 2017.
