Cyber Security Teaching Fellow: Job Post

The University of Portsmouth‘s School of Computing is seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow to take on a permanent contract working in the field of Cyber Security. The position will involve work on curriculum development, supporting students’ extra curricular activities, and participating in a wide range of teaching duties. Over the course of the posting, it is expected that the Teaching Fellow will also participate in appropriate administrative and management activities, ranging from module-coordination to student recruitment and assessment. The successful candidate will teach both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and will be provided with a salary of between  £35,845 and £39,152 per annum. Salary will increase annually in line with the salary band, and the successful cyber security fellow will additionally be provided with 35 days of annual leave, accumulated on a pro rata basis. 

The successful candidate should have already completed a PhD in the field of computer science, and there is a strong preference towards candidates who also have experience in relevant industrial spaces. Other key skills and attributes include: excellent communication and management skills, a willingness to engage with a broad range of cyber security topics, concern for development of the students and an enthusiasm for the development of innovative teaching initiatives.
