Neuro Diversity: Autism Spectrum Condition into Cyber
2 March 2017 |Defence Academy of the United Kingdom
9.00-18.30
The Information Assurance Advisory Council (IAAC) has teamed up with the Cyber Security Challenge UK, The Defence Academy of the UK and other great partners to host a collaborative industry event: ‘Neuro Diversity: Autism Spectrum Condition into Cyber.’ The day will be held at the Defence Academy, Shrivenham, on 2 March 2017.
This is an opportunity to hear from experts about the skill sets of those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and their potential for working in the sector.
The day in part builds upon IAAC’s recent autism workshop which has resulted in a guide for employers with thanks to Cyber Security Challenge UK, National Autistic Society and CREST. Please find a copy attached for information. There will be presentations from the National Autistic Society, Government Agencies and private sector employers with experience of ASC.
Presentations will cover interventions, recruitment and management in the workplace. This event is being run in parallel with an event for young autistic people (15+ year olds) with a view to exposing them to employers and vice versa. There will be an opportunity for a proportion of employers to help the young people to solve a variety of exciting industry-led problems on the day, including Pen-testing with NCC; Forensics with NCA; Researching with GCHQ. Everyone will have the opportunity to have a tour of the tanks and armour at Shrivenham.
See the attached document for more information on the topic of Autism and careers in
