Call For Proposals: Digital Security by Design

The Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) Digital Security by Design challenge leverages Capability Hardware concepts and approaches investigated by the CHERI program (led by the University of Cambridge). The fund aims to increase the protection of software in the light of increased cyberattack. Its work is focused on the architecture of hardware protection capabilities, the containment of pointers, and access to fine grain data.

EPSRC, on behalf of ISCF, is now committing up to £8 million (at 80% FEC) to support projects accross the research landscape that address objectives within scope of the ISCF Digital Security By Design challenge. According to EPSRC, the aim is to support innovative research projects that will help to move the technology beyond the state of the art, moving Capability Hardware concepts and use forward, without duplicating or conflicting with the existing CHERI research.

Applications for full proposals are sought from project teams based at Research Organisations in the UK who are eligible to receive EPSRC funding. You can learn more here. Please note that the application deadline is 7 January 2020 at 16:00.
