The fight against Italian Mafias around the World
At the end of last year, PaCCS’s Strategic Hub for Organised Crime Research hosted an international workshop at RUSI to exchange knowledge about the activities of the Italian Mafia in Europe, North America and Australia, and to discuss the challenges of countering the threat that they pose around the world.
Awareness of this threat is growing, and specialist anti-Mafia units have now been established in a number of countries.
Dr Anna Sergi, a specialist in Organised Crime and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at Essex University, has summarised the findings in a report that can be found here.
