Research Associate MSRC Project – Vacancy at University of Sheffield

A Research Associate position is available in the Department of Sociological Studies, University of Sheffield. The successful applicant will work within the Modern Slavery Research Consortium on a UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) project.

About the Candidates and the Role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering the analysis, dissemination and impact work package of our ESRC research project ‘Understanding the roles of faith based organisations in anti-trafficking’. The successful applicant will have or be near to completing a doctoral degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Sociology, Human Geography, Religious Studies, Anthropology) (or equivalent experience), preferably applied to migration or the study of religion as well as experience of qualitative analysis, writing outputs and impact activities. You will be part of a prestigious Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funded research team, conducting innovative research to offer significant new knowledge with the potential to improve anti-trafficking practice and to help build secure futures for trafficked individuals.

We are especially keen to invite applications from postdoctoral researchers with excellent qualitative data analysis skills and experience of communicating academic research to diverse audiences and developing impact activities.

The post is currently advertised for 5 months from May to September 2019, with the possibility of extension for 6 months until March 2020 subject to funding.
