Honour-Based Violence (HBV) National Roadshow 2018: Wolverhampton

This roadshow event is designed to raise public awareness through bringing together community groups and other organisations who have either experienced honour based violence (HBV) and forced marriages or are working within the field in order to help shape future research and policy agendas.

These workshops will provide an opportunity for participants to, not only access new and emerging research, but to crucially add their own voices to the final outcomes and policy recommendations.

This event is part of the National HBV Roadshow 2018, organised by the Manchester Metropolitan University Business School in collaboration with Jeena charity and The Elm Foundation. It will bring together a range of academics, policymakers and local communities sharing their experiences and work around HBV and forced marriages in the region and across the UK. This year’s HBV Roadshow will conclude with a policy event in Westminster in October 2018.

Specifically drawing upon research and the expertise of researchers at Manchester Metropolitan University and its collaborative partners, guest speakers will highlight current problems and issues faced in supporting both female and male victims of honour-based violence (HBV) and forced marriages.

Aimed at an interdisciplinary audience (e.g. academics, policy makers and practitioners from health, education, social welfare) and anyone currently working in the field.
