Academic StartUp Demo Day
19 October 2017 | London
14.15 – 18.00
The event will feature seven new cyber security startups (from academia) showcasing to an audience of potential investors and industry leaders. We are pleased to inform that Caroline Nokes MP, Minister for Government Resilience and Efficiency, has agreed to deliver the keynote.
The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS), in partnership with Innovate UK, have been running an Academic Startups Programme (delivered by the SETsquared partnership), which has taken some of the best cyber security ideas in academia from across the UK and provided support to progress towards a commercial business.
Twelve teams formed part of the initial cohort in January 2017. Seven teams remain part of this programme and they have progressed through a three month market validation phase, established their new businesses and built working prototypes. The teams have been supported by industry experts who have provided advice to best enable their respective journeys.
