Trust, Identity, Privacy and Security in the Digital Economy Workshop

The Research Councils UK Digital Economy Theme and the Cybersecurity strand of PaCCS would like to build a picture of the research challenges and opportunities in establishing Trust, Identity, Privacy and Security (TIPS) in a digital economy.
The one day workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to engage in discussion, identify research challenges and initiate new collaborative working partnerships. The outputs of this workshop will be used to develop the scope of a targeted call for research projects, which will be published in summer 2017.
There will be a pre-workshop activity for delegates to complete online, which will help to frame our discussions on the day. A workshop report will also be produced and published on the website following the event, to inform the wider community and feed into future research council strategy regarding TIPS.
Objectives of the workshop
The principal objectives of the workshop are to:
- Establish the main research challenges and opportunities in the area of TIPS
- Discuss the current TIPS capabilities in the UK and pinpoint any gaps
- Generate output that will inform future Research Council strategy concerning TIPS
Applying to attend and selection procedure
Those wishing to attend the workshop should complete the short Expression of Interest form on this EPSRC link. This will be used to select a balanced group of participants, with the aim of securing a diverse representation of institutions, expertise and career stages. Places are limited and the number of attendees from a given institution may be restricted in the event of multiple applications.
The deadline for all submissions is 16:00 on 28 April 2017. Applicants will be notified of the decision by 8 May 2017. EPSRC‘s decision on attendance is final.
A list of attendees will be published prior to the workshop (name, institution, department). This is to allow the delegates to engage with their colleagues prior to the workshop and to contribute any thoughts which they may wish to feed in.
Expenses for travel, subsistence or accommodation incurred by attendees will not be covered by EPSRC. Full details of the venue and an agenda will be made available to the selected participants.
