Current Fellow:
Tom Bucke leads a Home Office research unit that focuses on forms of organised crime such as drugs and firearms trafficking, fraud, cyber-crime, modern slavery and child exploitation. He began a policy fellowship with PaCCS and CSaP in December 2020. Tom’s work informs the work of ministers and senior officials, and supports the delivery of the UK Serious and Organised Crime Strategy. Tom is Chief Social Researcher at the Home Office and sits on the Government Social Research Strategy Board.
Past Fellows:
Sarah Brown, Head of Research & Intelligence at STOP THE TRAFFIK (STT), undertook a Fellowship with PaCCS and CSaP which began in the autumn of 2019. Sarah managed the collection and analysis of data and the dissemination of intelligence for STT. Her role included building and maintaining information sharing partnerships and the identification and implementation of appropriate technology solutions.

Horizon Scanning for Future Terrorist Threats
The Horizon Scanning for Future Threats Fellowship Scheme was held in November 2013. It brought together representatives from the Ministry of Defence, Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Home Office to meet with more than 60 researchers from 14 institutions.
Detecting and Countering Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and Home-Made Explosives (HMEs)
The Detecting and Countering IEDs and HMEs Fellowship Scheme was held between March – May 2013 in partnership with the Airey Neave Trust. It brought together representatives from the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure, Centre for Applied Science and Technology and Defence Science and Technology Labs to meet with more than 60 researchers from 25 institutions.
Cybersecurity and Information Assurance
The Cybersecurity and Information Assurance Fellowship Scheme was held in November 2012 in partnership with the Centre for Science and Policy at the University of Cambridge. It brought together representatives from the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure, Her Majesty’s Government Communications Centre and the Government Communications Headquarters to meet with more than 40 researchers from 13 institutions.
Global Uncertainties Leadership Fellows
Nine leading academics were appointed as Global Uncertainties Leadership Fellows in 2013. They provided leadership for the Partnership undertaking high quality research and knowledge exchange projects across themes of radicalisation, religion and beliefs, trust, ethics and national security.
