The Partnership is a leading source of research on current and future security challenges and aims to generate an evidence base founded on excellence and innovation in research with significant potential for impact.
PaCCS was developed to deliver research on the core themes of Conflict, Transnational Organised Crime and Cybersecurity.
Within these themes, the Partnership’s research portfolio has covered areas as varied as terrorism, threats to infrastructure, identity management, ideologies and beliefs, ethics, surveillance, the proliferation of weapons and technologies and more.
The Arts and Humanities Research Council led on the Conflict theme for PaCCS and continues to fund a programme of activities with a focus on conflict and international development. The Economic and Social Research Council leads on Transnational Organised Crime and retains and active PaCCS portfolio in this area, and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Council works with academic researchers, businesses and government users to address important challenges in Cybersecurity. AHRC, ESRC and EPSRC are all part of UK Research and Innovation.
Previously, a Strategic Advisory Group provided advice on thematic content, and a Cross Council Strategic Group was responsible for the development and implementation of research priorities.
